Improved Cron
[resolved] Looking to just get this working. It won't display as "running". Help? (4 posts)

I just downloaded and installed your Improved Cron. I'm running on WP 3.8.1. I'm also on a VPS server so I can control everything.

Your plugin looks great, except for some reason, .. under STATUS I see the Current Time, but Started (says nothing after it) and Next 'Fake' Visit (says nothing after it) and State says Stopped.

I've stopped and started it and refeshed it according to your instructions but it doesn't change. I can't see anything.

I'm not running any caching application.

I've also disabled all my plugins (except for your plugin) and I still see the same thing.

I also tried changing to the WP Default 2014 theme, with all plugins disabled, and still see the same thing .. meaning, nothing is showing for the items mentioned above.

I'm not sure what the problem is and I was hoping you could help.

    Thanks,
    Gary

  2. Off topic for a minute...

Gary? Please do not raise a support request and 30 seconds later raise a review with "If the author replies back and helps with this, I'll certainly update my post and rating." That was deleted because that's just plain impolite.

You would not appreciate someone holding a threat of a bad review over your head would you? Give the author a chance more than 30 seconds.

If after after a few days then yes please review the plugin. But do not try to coerce support by leaving bad reviews.

    Jan,

Well, normally I would agree with you 100%. But the developer of this plugin clearly stated he does not support this plugin any longer. So the likelyhood is .. that the developer is not planning on providing any support.

I was leaving a review based upon "my review" of the current state of the plugin.

Again, since the developer of "this plugin" clearly says .. there's no support (http://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/improved-cron)

I felt it was appropriate to suppose that there will be no support, which is why I said, what I said, as I said it, and post my review within 30 seconds after that.

Again, under normal situations, I would have not done this in this manner. But .. I feel this post and review were completely appropriate based upon the additional information that was previously posted by the developer.

On your site, you claim to be a 'certified' web developer.

Why can't you fix it yourself?

    Best wishes
