Support » Plugins » Looking for WP-Photos.php for 1.5.1.1 (or something like it)

  • I loved Alex King’s WP-photos plugin for WP 1.2. Alas, I can’t seem to get it to work for 1.5.1.1. Does anyone know of a similar plugin? I like the fact that WP-photos could turn an individual post into a photo-album–all I had to do was create a post and then I could add an entire directory of images and thumbs to a single post. I’d show you an example, except it doesn’t work anymore. 🙁

I’d rather not go with an external album tool like Gallery or Coppermine because they would require another plugin to allow images from them to be posted in my regular WP blog. WP-Photos worked the best because it was just a plugin, a few files and was nice and simple to install and use.

Thanks for the suggestions–I tried to get iimage gallery to work with no luck. Even read a good deal of the comments on the page to try to work out my problem–never managed to do it. Qdig seemed to unstable to try–I mean, the plugin author himself says it’s buggy.

Oh well–thanks for trying anyway. Maybe I should just contact Alex King and beg him to do a 1.5 version of WP-photos.

There are more solutions at these location if you want dig through them:

Cool, thanks Macmanx! I’ve worked out a simple fix by using a series of quicktag buttons to insert img src tags that point to my photo directory in the meantime. It’s cumbersome, but it works. However, when I have time, I’ll definitely check out those links. Thanks, again!

Well, I tried a number of those but I just couldn’t get them to work. On a whim, I stopped by AlexKing.org and found that he had posted a version of WP 1.5.1.1 with all of his plugins (including WP-Photos) installed by default. I DLed that, grabbed the WP-Photos plugin along with the mobile plugin he wrote and the grins plugin (the write page won’t display properly without it) and uploaded them. I also uploaded his entire WP-Admin file just to be safe although it looks like I didn’t have to do that.

Anyway, here’s where anyone else can get Alex’s WP 1.5.1.1 “Pluggin In” as he calls it:

I’m still testing everything and will post again if I get any errors and explain how I fixed them–if I was able to. If you don’t see any more posts, you can assume everything has gone well.
