• Hi everyone, I’m new to wordpress. I’m still in the process of getting to know the CMS and editing my CSS file. I started using the Green Leaf theme and it has a feature where I can create an “about” page and write articles there. These articles in the about page have an option for users to leave comments.

I wanted to know if this feature for leaving comments on separate pages is part of the theme, or is this something that can be edited? I didn’t seem to find this feature when I installed other themes.

  • First, your About page is no doubt the default Page created when you installed WordPress. It would not be something added by the theme.

Display of comments on either a post or Page is typically controlled through the use of the comments_template() tag. When this is added to the single post of Page template for a theme (and comments are enabled), the use of the tag will ‘include’ the comments template (comments.php). So yes, it is something you can edit, and any theme which does not provide comments on Pages can be easily modified to do so.
