• Hi there folks. On a WordPress site design I’m doing, there are numerous snippets of text that appear outside of blog entries, like copyright notices, or text blurbs in other places. I’m a bit of a newbie to WordPress (but not CMSes). I’m wondering if there’s a plugin (or a technique) to give a client access to user-defined variables that could then be inserted into the template.

What I’m hoping to be able to do is have a page in the admin area that had open fields for these snippets, like so:

    footer text ________________________
    text above about ___________________
    text above contact _________________

.. which she could update at any time. Does this make sense?

Ideally, these values would be accessible globally and I could insert them anywhere.

Thanks to all who reply. I’m sure I could just be nudged in the right direction, and figure it out, so feel free to just post URLs that I can look at.

    Cheers,

    Rob
