Looking for an interactive Event Calendar plugin (7 posts)

I'm looking for a specific type of event calendar plugin that allows visitors to submit their events which would then be evealuated by our admin team before being posted on the blog.

One such example can be found on this news site. The widget is on the right hand side about half way down the page:

Would be great if there's a worpress plugin that can do similar or the same.

    Thank you

I don't know of a plugin that has the same functionality, exactly, as you indicated -- however, you may be able to allow users to register on your site (with limited privileges) and post events which would be reviewed before you permitted them to be published.

You could probably do this using the Event Calendar 3 ... but it certainly wouldn't be like what you showed us in the link.

The more I think about it, that's not an Event plugin, it's a SEPERATE issue... a PHP submission form going into a "pending" database, and then, an administrative APPROVAL form that would go into the WP Posts database and the Events database.

It could certainly be done against an Event Calendar 3 and WordPress back end, but would have little to DO with wordpress.

(The admin part could be a wordpress plugin of course, but the SUBMISSIONS form would be, essentially, stand alone.)

EC3 doesn't currently support repeating events. That's high up in the to do list. Is that an important part of your plan?

one problem with repeating events is the "foreverness" of them. If you do repeating events, do you set a one year window or something? What if the meeting or whatever MOVES or changes? Administering public calendars is a mess...

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated.

A repeating calendar is not high up on our agenda, no. So that's not such a pressing issue.

I'm maintaining a non-profit breast cancer awareness site for my client, you can see it here: http://www.fightpink.com and wanted to add a public calendar as described above for our future visitors to post info about fund raising events in their local area.

I'll take a look at Even Calendar 3 and see what i can do with that to stat with.

Thank you once again for your help. That's all very kind of you all.

I'd like something like this also for our company's conference room scheduling. The user should be able to log in, create or edit their event but not be able to delete or edit someone else's event.

Calendar Plugin and Events Calendar both do what I want except for the editing security. Anyone who can access the calendar has full admin rights to the calendar.

After rereading the original post I realize that it's different from what I want. How embarraskin.

What about combining Event Calendar 3 and TDO Mini Forms? (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tdo-mini-forms/)
