Since I upgraded to WP 2.7 my search bar don't works anymore. Before the upgrade it was pretty useless as well.
When I install the plugins 'Search Everything' or 'Advanced Search' there is no plugin appearing in my plugin list. What does not appear cannot be activated.
As I'm a little lost here, I hope that somebody can help me out and tell me where I can find a search plugin for my sidebar or (even better) head section, that finally works.
Thank you very much!

download "Executable PHP widget"
this is what i use for the search code
"<form method="get" id="searchform" action="/index.php">
<div><input type="text" value="" name="s" id="s" /><input type="submit" id="q" value="Search" />
</div>
</form>"

Sorry but I can't find this widget.
When I make a text-widget with this code it creates a searchbox.
The result of this box is every time the same: it just seem to refresh the current page.

I now installed the Plugin Exec-PHP and then made the text widget. The result remains the same, it doesn't shows any results.
A costumized Google Searchengine brings results but is BleEping Ugly!

It looks the same way on my side, but as I said nothing happens when I do a search.
However, thank you very much for your advice. Maybe I have to look for another theme, as I noticed that the search function don't works in the updated version either.
Again, thank you!

At last I have it working. The problem was a conflict on the local computer. Something with an Firefox Add-on.
Thanks for your support!
