I am also looking. I want something simple, small, fast, reliable and safe. I am willing to give up advanced capability to get just this. For me I think NGG 2.0 is much more than I need. Unfortunately, NextGEN gallery is the only gallery I have used. With millions of downloads it seem like the safest choice at the time. I don’t really have the time to look at many plugins and would very much appreciate a shortlist of candidates. 1.9.13 is good enough for a while but it may eventually break when WP is upgraded and I want to be on something that is being maintained.
