So I've been on the hunt for weeks now for a good wordpess technology blog type theme.
I'm looking for something which has featured posts / featured slider and something that looks like http://www.engadget.com/ or http://www.technobuffalo.com/
I found a REALLY good theme that I like http://www.magazine3.com/techblog/
however it costs $50 and I don't really want to go and spend that sort of money yet on a theme which I won't keep for more than a year or so.
Do any of you know any other wordpress themes (hopefully free) that fit the sort of criteria I'm looking for?

I really like to know this as well.. My website, http://www.noypigeeks.com/ , needs to have a makeover or a change in theme I guess. Anybodt here who have suggestions? We'll appreciate it very much.. If there are free themes, then its great. If there are none, then we will take paid themes as well.. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone recognize the theme on BusaBoss's site? I really liked it, and was wondering if I could use it...

Even if you were to acquire the theme illegally, you would still be missing out on WordPress.org community. As you know, WordPress.org forums support themes that are distributed on WordPress.org.
These commercial theme vendors may be big, but the web, the free community is bigger.
