Looking For a Gallery/Media Management Plug-In

I have tried NextGEN Gallery version 1.7.4. The one thing it is missing is a way to ‘re-order’ the images regardless of the image name. I have a user who needs to be able to have images appear in a specific order. I have tried to rename the images simply with a number, 100, 101, 102, etc. This works fine for the first 4 or 5. Then the images just start appearing in a random order. I did see that the guy who wrote the plugin is working on a 1.8.0 version, but right now he is just releasing a Beta. I don’t have the luxury of using the Beta version in a Production installation.

Are there any other Plug-ins that would do the image organization I need? I did a search for slideshow & gallery plug-ins and there are a ton. I also did a search on these forums but found nothing that might help. Anyone have any ideas?
