i have a series of long comments that i would like to shorten using a <!--more--> tag. i edited my comment and added the tag from the manage >comments area but it wont show once viewing it in single page template.
is there a problem or this functionality doesnt work?

I don't think it works with comments. As far as I remember it is meant to work with posts.
However, there is a comment excerpt tag that might be useful for you.

ok, but why is there a more tag insert in the wysiwyg on comment edit? kinda makes sense to work if its there, dont you think?
anyway, thanks for the comment excerpt. i wish it would work better though. i couldnt find a way to show more than 20words or to have a link to display everything. if no one else has anything on this by tomorrow i will change this to resolved
