   changed url in wordpress rather than with web host (bluehost) and now can't log in as admin.

   Help!!!

   That's all well and good, however, I still have a problem logging in... if I can't log in as the admin, the rest is mute....

   the second link given above refers to changing site url via the database.... which is what you need to do. You need to change the url back to original to get back in.

   Then you need to follow the instructions in the first link, moving wordpress, if you actually want to change the url. You can't just change the url for wordpress, it is referring to a specific location, and you need to follow the moving instructions to do it properly

   I am not sure if this helps solve the problem, however, this is what the site WAS:

   http://www.brynewears.net

   it was 'updated' via the wordpress dashboard in one of the options to http://www.locus.com... now when I go to sign in as the admin via http://www.brynewears.net/wp-admin it instead attempts to redirect through http://www.locus.com and an error appears:

   "The connection has timed out.
   The server at http://www.locus.com is taking too long to respond.
   * The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
   * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web."

   The last two are certainly not the case...

   You can log in as the admin, you simply need to update your URL and, if you forgot your admin access information, you can update that too.
