Hi. I am trying to install a second WordPress installation on another folder on my website and having some troubles. When I install it and log in the login page just refreshes. It doesn't give me an error nor does it bring me to my dashboard. Could it be something with the two databases being on one hosting account?

No. I have three installs on one hosting account without any problems.

Thanks esmi...I must be setting something up incorrectly. Is there a way to go in an "clean all password, etc." out to see if that helps? Maybe it's remembering old databases or something???

Do you have an .htaccess file in your root folder? Have you tried re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress in case you have a corrupt file?

Yes, I've tried uploading a fresh version a couple of different times, as well as creating new databases/accounts. I think I've just confused everything by trying to do it over and over again honestly, always getting the same outcome. :0 There is never an error message - just refreshes the login page. I have the below folders that I'm trying to make work

    public_html/brentandshelly/(wordpress files here)
    public_html/pease-place/(wordpress files here)

I've tried a few different variations of the pease-place (i.e. pease, peaseplace, etc) to try to start fresh and make it work but it does the same thing each time.

I'm able to log in just fine on the brentandshelly one.

I do see an .htaccess file in the root folder but am not able to download it via my ftp program to look at it.

    Thanks so much!!!

I think you need to check that .htaccess file. Or, at the very least, rename it to .htaccess-old

Gotcha! I'll give that a shot.

Any thoughts as to why the .htaccess file is not downloading to my computer? I'm using Filezilla and when I download it it shows up on my local drive within FileZilla but when I actually to try to find it in Finder it's not there...any thoughts?

Is the best way to do this via Creating a Network (http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network)...should I just do it that way and have multiple wordpress blogs in multiple different directories on my site?

Actually, nevermind - I just read a bit more of that and I think it's over my head :(
