interesting problem. i have the correct login/password on the login page, but when entered it just bounces back to /wp-login without any error messages. typing …/wp-admin directly bounces back to the login page as well. tried different usernames, password resets etc. and no go.

bump, still unresolved. how easy is downgrading to a backup? i used the automatic backup plug in, so have the file it created. is it as easy as copying these files back to their appropriate locations via ftp?

If you’re referring to 2.6.2 (you don’t say which version and you’ve tagged your post as ‘2.6’), I had the same issue.
