    It sounds like a conflict with another plugin (or, perhaps, the theme). I’d change to the twentyfourteen theme, deactivate every other plugin besides s2, and then reactivate one by one to find the problem.

    you are so right! it was a plugin conflict… it’s always nice to be reminded to go threw the basics…
