I have wordpress installed on a godaddy windows server. The problem is that after logging in and going back to the main website instead of displaying the site admin link it still shows the login link. I think the issue is that I have wordpress installed in a subfolder /blog/techtalk but pointed to http://www.thetechtalkblog.com so that when I go back to the blog it dosent display the actual path in the address bar. when i manually set the address to http://www.thetechtalkblog.com/blog/techtalk then the login changes to site admin.

    merid,

What address do you have under Settings > General > Blog address (URL)?

    merid,

What you have entered for WordPress is not a valid address. Double check the location of the blog.

That is the location of the blog. I don't understand why the site can only be accessed at http://www.thetechtalkblog.com and not at the physical address?

You have two instances of installation, notice the underscore on one and not the other - are you perhaps confusing the two when pointing to the actual blog?

the second one you refer to I just installed thinking that maybe it was a result of the underscore but it wasn't. You can actually get to the site by going to http://thetechtalkblog.com/_blogs/thetechtalkblog.com/thetechtalkblog/index.php but that still doesn't solve anything.

Ok I have figured out what the problem is. I had my blog address set to http://www.thetechtalkblog.com all I had to do was change it to thetechtalkblog.com and that fixed it.

Just for the record I switched from windows to linux. So far everything is working way better.
