I have installed and re-installed 2.7.1.
I am running it on my own web server.
When I get to the install.php step, I get the login screen and the new password.
When I log in - I see a list of files in the wp-admin directory.
The login was successful, but i keep getting th file list on sevral different clicks in the blog.
Login Doesnt go To Admin Panels (2 posts)

add this line to your .htaccess
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html
