• I was just talking to another WordPress user and was telling him why I haven’t done anything with the software as of yet. And I think something is wrong with my login screen. He says that when he logs in, he gets a WordPress input page. When I log in, I get the database for PHP MyAdmin, even though the http address is for wp-admin.

My site is hosted on Yahoo and I’m wondering if maybe that is the problem? Is there a setting or something that I have done wrong? This admin page is totally greek to me…

If you need more information to help me out, please let me know. I’m not sure what I’m doing right or wrong.

    try going directly to /wp-admin/wp-login.php

I am sure that yahoo does not support MySQL databases. They do not even support cgi scripts.

You need MySQL support to run WordPress. My use of WordPress is only a few days old, the instalation was VERY easy.

No luck.. I get a “page cannot be found” error.

I also tried www.(domain).com/wp-login.php and it brought me to php My Admin again.

Yahoo does support MySQL.. it’s on my domain control panel.

Sorry I did not know that, I am sure one of the experts (someone with more than 2 days of use) will chime in and help.

I recently installed WP for someone who was using Yahoo – and IIRC, it was a bit of a pig to do, mainly the db_host.

If you want to email me some details, we can see what we can dig up between us ?

Still having problems.. podz helped a lot but we are stuck now because when I log in at the WordPress login screen, I get a blank screen.

    Any ideas???

    Here’s some info: http://www.rcktman.com/blog/info.php

I should also add that podz tried this on XP and Firefox browsers and has the same result.

    Thanks much everyone.

    Additional info:
    All files are fresh 1.2.2
    No whitespace errors.
Blank screen (note it does not progress out of wp-login.php) happens on IE and Firefox. Cache and cookie issues ruled out.

Is it a FreeBSD thing ?

I’m running WP 1.2.1 on a FreeBSD server; no problem there.

However, I’ve run into a glitch with 1.2.2 elsewhere.

Just reposting this in hopes someone has some ideas… Thanks!

Correction: I am NOT running into a glitch with 1.2.2. Very smooth … so long as you dump your cookies.

Dump your cookies. I do that when the batch burns. Seriously though, I did dump my cookies and it still happens. Arg.
