I've used this version on my website (http://iadp.fh-net.com/weblogs) and it worked fine for me. Then I've wanted to use the same version to my group site I've been working on @ awardspace. So I did exactly everything I did on my web to awardspace, but when I tried logging in I can't because when I log in I am directed to (http://mydomain.awardspace.comhttp://mydomain.awardspace.com) how come i get the exact http right after .com? I never got that problem when I installed mine?

The same is happening to me ... I have tested the wordpress with others hosting sites.
But in awardspace I get the above mentioned error with the links when I try to login. (or any other link)

I found something: "Uno de los primeros problemas que se me presentó al instalar WordPress en Awardspace, fue que en la base de datos la dirección del blog fue guardada duplicada (no se la causa de esto). Para que entiendan a que me refiero, si la dirección de mi blog era http://www.miblog.com.ar, en la BD figuraba: “http://www.miblog.com.arhttp://www.miblog.com.ar” La forma de solucionar esto es entrar a nuestra BD con algún administrador de BD's (el phpmyadmin desde el web manager de Awardspace), examinar la tabla wp_options (no explicaré como hacer esto, no es un tutorial de bases de datos =P) y cambiar el valor del campo option_value de la línea cuyo option_name es 'url', para que sea la dirección donde subieron el wordpress (algo como http://www.miblog.com.ar/wordpress)."

basically what he's saying is go to your DB, and in the "wp_options" table, correct the value for the "url" (?) entry to your working address. In my case I had to correct two options: "site_url" and "home" and it worked.

The probelm is because of awardspace. Do the steps shown beautifully at http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/ and you will be fine.

I'm having basically the same problem with Awardspace. I am able to log in to my WordPress dashboard, but when I click any of the links (for example, Comments in moderation), I get redirected to http://www.awardspace.com/tour2.html and there is nothing I can do to moderate my comments! I've tried the above solutions and nothing worked. BTW, the entries mentioned in tamba2 were already there.
What to do? I cannot manage my blog at all.
Would be so grateful for any help.

Okay, the problem is solved. I sent an email to support@awardspace.com explaining exactly what the problem was and they fixed it! They got back to me within a very short period of time, and we exchanged emails until the problem was identified and solved! They were great, especially considering that their hosting is free! I highly recommend them for beginners.
