    I am switching from .com to .org by switching domain name from WP to my primary host, Go Daddy. Got the name change and host changed. Got WordPress set up to run the blog and can access it by the correct address http://atravelerslibrary.com I got the e-mail confirming set up and giving me user name: "Admin" and a password to log on. But it won't accept admin as a correct user name!

    I also tried to sign in with my chosen user name, and it wouldn't accept password. E-mailed me a password for that user name, but then wouldn't accept that username as valid, either.

    How do I request a new username and password be sent so that I can upload my content and start configuring. HELP! I'm losing valuable time.

    Default admin user name should probably be "admin". All lower case. Names and passwords are case sensitive. Try that, (unless you already did).

    How do I request a new username and password be sent

    click on the link on the login page that says:

    "Lost your password?"

    If/when that fails, reset it manually. Read this;

    Now I'm in even bigger trouble. I started working my way through the suggestions. Had already tried both caps and lower case--wouldn't accept user name. So I removed entire content I had exported from WP.com to my computer and uploaded to GoDaddy and uploaded it again. Then when I tried to log in I got this message Warning: main(/home/content/v/e/r/veramarie/html/atravelerslibrary//wp-includes/classes.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/v/e/r/veramarie/html/atravelerslibrary/wp-load.php on line 43

    Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/home/content/v/e/r/veramarie/html/atravelerslibrary//wp-includes/classes.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/content/v/e/r/veramarie/html/atravelerslibrary/wp-load.php on line 43

    I am not too concerned about the password, what concerns me is that it would not accept "admin" and now it says there is no wp-load.php

    I can't alter code manually to cahnge username since I haven't been able to access the blog at the new wp.org to import my data to it, and can't get into it when it won't accept user name of admin. Going in circles.

    It looks like your path variable is incorrect.

    The best thing that I could suggest, since nothing is working, is start fresh. Recreate the WP Database and replace the files.

    Thanks, Justin and everyone else who tried to help.
    I had tried recreating the WP database before I read this, but that didn't work either. Then I discovered it was a really simple solution. I should have been going directly to atravelerslibrary.com/wp-admin (instead of without the wp-admin) and signing in with the user name and password I had created rather than following the instructions in the e-mail sent form WP. Thanks to a helpful person at Go Daddy, I resolved a problem that actually seems to have been caused by WordPress. Now I have another problem--another thread.
