All of a sudden, without doing anything at all on the blog, I am unable to log in to my blog, and the blogroll is missing from the sidebar.
version. 2.8.2
go figure- i was checking out my own links yesterday, and I suspect my host locked database permissions or wordpress itself suspecting hacking attemp
is there a way to solve this problem?
Try renaming the plugins folder via FTP in case you have a bad plugin.

no, no plugin is bad, dont have many of them and had them for a long time.
And many older plugins aren't compatible with WordPress 2.8.

Turns out this is my host, again.
This has happened so many times and each time they promise this won't happen again, and it always happens again.
I am not sure what the exact problem is but my site either is redirected to wordpress installation, or all posts and links disappear, and nothing works including admin login.
Then the tech support does something to my database - I am told that they changed database permissions, or firewall blocks my IP because of a suspect hacking activity (which is false of course), etc.
This is supposed to protect my site but it disables it for everyone at the same time.
Is there anything I should know about database permissions?
