   ok I tried to upload a new version of wordpress and got it all wrong. Almost lost everything... I have finally reverted back to an older version and it is mostly working other than I am locked out of my admin. this is the error message I have been getting.

   Fatal error: Call to undefined function: is_multisite() in /homepages/14/d271388824/htdocs/webportfolio/blog/wp-admin/admin.php on line 43

   what do I need to do?

   ok I deleted the upgrade.php files and now it takes me here...

   You have lots of errors (here). Having this many errors makes it hard to trouble shoot site problems.

   Error messages on the 404 page from glazefolio.com/blog/wp-admin indicate you are missing files from your wp-content/theme folder. Did you mess with any of your theme files?

   For an install gone bad (but the site seems to be working) delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folder from the server and ftp new, unzipped files to replace them. DO NOT delete your wp-content folder, your config.php file or your .htaccess if you have one.

   I may have messed with a lot of my files... I backed up my files before I tried to do the upgrade and in the process of trying to revert back I think I saved over some of the files (rookie mistake)... I do have some considerably older back ups... would you recommend that I re upload some of my much older folders? which ones and will I lose my content? Thanks for your help!

   As long as you do not delete wp-content which has plugins, theme folders you shouldn't loose anything. All your posts and data is in the data base.

   If you are storing images or other content in wp-admin, wp-includes you should probably start keeping it within the themes folder.

   I will try the wp-include and wp-admin and go from there... I will let you know what happens... It may be a good opportunity to start over... I just hate to lose all my content and the few followers that I have managed to gain. Thanks so much!

   It is asking me to upgrade again now... should I click upgrade?

   ok I am back in... Thanks soo much! Now that I am in I can work on all the other problems it has... It may still be a good time to think about a new one, but thanks anyway... I have put a lot of time into this one and I am glad that I still have it now... :-)
