location aware nivo slider?

Hi! I’m trying to have the nivo slider on my homepage be location specific. I plan to use geoPlugin’s php web service to determine the location in my theme’s index.php and then show or hide the appropriate nivo slider. Has anyone tried to do this? Any ideas? Would it be better/possible to just show/hide individual photos within one massive slider? Help, please, anyone! I have tried the geoposty plugin but it seems it hasn’t been supported in a long time and isn’t compatible with a recent version of wp.
