allusion: http://xavier.borderie.net/wp-fr/ is my test blog for the French translation. All POT strings are completed, but like Eke, I'm waiting for the final 1.2 POT to deem it complete (read http://wordpress.org/support/index.php?action=vthread&forum=3&topic=5417&page=0#post-19 for a few questions about this) :)

The final 1.2 POT is now available. Yes, there are some missing strings, and the calendar has limitations with regard to one letter abbreviations of the days. We'll work on those in CVS for the next release. I'll be posting a POT file that will track CVS once the first string changes go in.

I started to make Russian translation for WP and found that I can't do right translation for week days abbreviations (i.e. "S", "M", "T", "W", etc) because in English abreviations for Sunday and Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday are the same, that's why the list of abbreviations in POT is limited to "S", "M", "T", "W", "F". But for Russian this list is not enough!
BTW, is there any spec on POT and PO? If I'd know the spec I could try to find any solution.

Now that the developers promised some "minor bug fixes" together with the security issues addressed in WP 1.2.1 can the translators hope to get "back" the missing two days of the week? :)
In this thread alone at least three times was requested a fix for the missing S and T (conf. Tuesday/Thursday and Saturday/Sunday, respectively), but in the latest POT file they are still missing.
    TIA

The fix probably won't be in 1.2. It's been in 1.3 for awhile.
