   I updated the database of my Localhost version of my WordPress site and now my localhost address redirects me to my site online. I can no longer access my localhost WordPress site. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

   Check the value for 'siteurl' in the wp_options table.

   I tried opening that file in a text editor. It doesn't display correctly. What program should I use to look at the wp_options table?

   You should be looking in the WordPress database using something like Phpmyadmin.
