Sorry about this but I have a number of questions.
I have phpdev installed (containing MySQL, Apache and so on, and Invision forum). I want to host the blog myself (as I do my forum) but I'm wondering how I would access it. The forum is installed to c:/phpdev/forum - should I install WordPress to c:/phpdev/wordpress? To access my forum, members can go to http://myip/forum/index.php - is this the same way my blog could be accessed?
The install was very fast and extremely simple - but I must have made a cock-up because it didn't work. Should I have changed the 'localhost' setting to http://myip/wordpress?
I appreciate that's a lot of (possibly) difficult questions but I'd love some help here. WordPress looks very useful (and attractive) and I like the idea of having complete control of my blog on my own computer.
Many thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer.

    - Yup
is this the same way my blog could be accessed?
    -I would think so, yes.
Should I have changed the 'localhost' setting to http://myip/wordpress?
    - probably not. Assuming your forum also uses mysql, what connection does that use ?
If you got an error, what was it ?

I would be inclined to install wordpress in C:/apache/htdocs/wp/...

'Assuming your forum also uses mysql, what connection does that use ?'
Dur - 'localhost'. Should've looked there before asking, really. I'm such a klutz.
Thanks for the swift response, podz. I'll re-install to the correct location and get back to you.

Sorr, NuclearMoose, didn't spot your post. There isn't an apache/htdocs folder - but why there rather than the other location - or doesn't it really matter?

I agreed with your post as you say you have the forum working. I'm not familar with phpdev, but using xampp, I install to the location NM states. Guess it varies :)

Apache server generally looks there for sites. I have all of my sites installed there locally for testing.
