• I’m working on a WP site locally, using MAMP, before taking it live. I’ve had a break from working on it for about 4 months, due to other work, and when I came back to it, the version of WP I was using needed upgrading to the current one.

    After upgrading, I can no longer see my site, just a blank browser window.

    What did I do wrong? And how can I correct it? All the files are still there (of course), just somehow the latest version of WP can’t display them…

    Many thanks…

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

    I can’t access the site at all, not the front or the back end… can I deactivate the plugins by dragging the folders out of the directory?

    @aga1, esmi means via FTP.

    To deactivate your plugins, rename your plugins folder at /wp-content/plugins.

    To switch to the default theme, move your themes from /wp-content/themes (except the default theme)
