Are there any local clients or frontends that run on a user's own computer (regardless of Windows, Mac, or Linux) for administering a remote installation of WordPress? I know there are programs for writing and editing posts and pages, but I'm curious if there's something that additionally can, say, install themes or configure plugins.
I have a friend who is technically savvy but finds WordPress unintuitive (though I'm unsure in what respects). I thought something in his native OS might prove friendlier.
