• I’ve just started to play with WordPress 2.9.2 as a replacement for LiveJournal. I seem to have found an issue with the import tool.

I imported my journal, grahams.livejournal.com, using the tool. It took many batches to import all the entries, and they all seem to have imported correctly. When the tool then went to import the comments it eventually timed out after several minutes. I then clicked “Try Again” in Firefox which brought me back to the comment importing wait page. This time it seemed to have successfully imported the comments.

When I look at the comments, however, it seems that some comments are associated with the wrong post. For example, see this comment on both LJ and
    WP

As you can see it is attached to completely different posts. I can’t tell how often this problem has occurred, but it doesn’t really give me much confidence in the import process. Furthermore, many anonymous comments (including the one above) were imported as “unapproved” even though they were unscreened on LJ.

I have full shell access to the machine that WP is running on, so I am able to provide any logs or tweak any setting that may help in resolving this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
