Does LivePress work with 1.5? Or do I need to wait for new update? Thanks.

I've heard both. I do know that the plugin is read multiple times because of the various files in the LivePress folder. However, I personally couldn't ever get it to work on the site I was trying to sync up. I'd personally wait for an update.

It's not working for me either. I was able to get the LJ Extras box to come up, but it didn't sync.

Works for me. Try moving the LivePress folder and then edit the LivePress.php file inside the plugin folder to make it point to the new location.

Thanks Kyle for that info. How do you configure it to post to LJ and GJ? I have journals on both LJ and GJ. Is it possible at this time?

Kyle: where should we move the LivePress directory to?

help-me-please: Following Kyle's advice, I just moved the LivePress directory to /wp-content/LivePress/ and changed the reference path in LivePress.php (which should remain in /wp-content/plugins/). Works just fine now.

Neil: what reference path did you use in LivePress.php? The old reference path doesn't work.

Just use the full path to /wp-content/LivePress and you should be fine.

Hmm, it's working to sync fine, but it looks like maybe lj-cuts aren't working. They show up in my WP blog as just ( ) with no clickable text, and when I use text="some text", the entire article posts to the front of the WP blog.

I'm just happy for it to be synching for now, but unteins, any plans for a fully-compatible 1.5 version?

I got LivePress working, including synching.

    maesterkinoc:

This is what I did to get it to work. Completely remove everything including the class-IXR.php

Then upload just the plugin file, activate it then upload the livepress folder and class-IXR.php. See if that works.

I was getting the same errors as you with the arrays, and it ended up being that class-IXR.php needed to be either updated or re uploaded.

When you upload everything back, put the livepress folder in the plugins, and also go into the plugin and tell it to point back to the new (original) location.

Does anyone have a screenshot of what "Write Post" would look like with a valid install of LivePress and WP 1.5?

I gave neil's method a shot in hopes that it would let me access /wp-admin/post.php (which I can't do with LivePress activated), and although I now see only one instance of LivePress in plugins, I can't post with it activated. Any other people get it working somehow?

I think I need some hand holding when it comes to setting up this one. Anyone who got LivePress working with 1.5, could you please help me?!

this mod is such a pain in the ass.
if anyone has some decent documentation on EXACTLY how to get this mod working, please share.
It seems like nothing in this mod is where it belongs.

I got it working, but I had to leave all the files in the plugin folder to be able to post (so my plugins page is a loooong line of LivePress). I had a few tiny errors in my configuration that made all the difference in the world. Check each item you entered to make sure it's correct (even if you JUST checked it--as was my case). I've finally gotten mood theme, lj-cut, lj-user etc. working and I'll help out anyway I can.

so now EVERYTHING goes in /plugins?
and i don't have to edit any paths in any files?

this is so irritating, i've been trying to get this work for over a week.

GURT and others....you can email me at jenn[@] jennmiller[dot] com if you'd like. I can maybe write out how I got it to work and see if it works for you too.

Here's something that might help some folks:

I did the following things to get LP working and with a clean Plugins list:

    1) Put the LivePress folder in the /wp-content folder (same level as the plugins folder)

    2) Put LivePress.php in the /wp-content/plugins folder.

    3) Make sure your /LivePress/lpsynch.config.php file is editted properly (the file is fairly clear on how to do it. Make sure you insert your LJ name on both $journal lines (password and allowlist).

    4) Update the path for all the files in the /plugins/LivePress.php file to reflect the correct/full path to the LivePress folder (this depends on your overall WP install).

    5) This was the key for me: If the class-IXR.php file already exists in your wp-includes folder, OVERWRITE IT with the one that came with the LivePress zip file! The intro.txt file specifically says not to do this, but my install only started working once I did. cococo references this, I'm repeating it's usefulness.

Thanks also to jennmiller for her help.

Actually, I tested this a few weeks ago for a friend - and I just put the LP folder in the plugins folder, keeping the structure exactly as it is (not moving livepress.php) and it works absolutely fine and doesn't produce all the instances of the files showing up in the plugin options. Works finely for her as well.

And yes the class-ixr.php file is very important to overwrite with LP's, without it you'll get error upon error.
