• I’ve noticed that in the edit posts main screen, a restricted user does see the posts that are only in the restricted categories, but the number of posts that is shown on top of screen, i.e :

    All (59) | Published (57) | Drafts (2) | Trash (77)

contains the number of all posts in site, and not the number of restricted posts that is shown.
That can be problematic in two ways –
First, the restricted user is being shown information that he might not see (how many posts are totally in the site)
Second, a restricted user may think that there is a problem, if counter tells him there are XX posts and he sees much less in the edit screen.

Could a feature be added of showing the numbers of posts, according to user’s/role’s restrictions?

Many thanks for your great and well coded plugin!

Unfortunately, this is a minor drawback that can’t be corrected. WordPress outputs those counts based off an SQL query and there’s no way to filter that section.

This is probably one of things that needs to be communicated from the admin to each user.

    Thanks @mmuro for your reply.

I’m not sure I understood what you meant in your last sentence –

“This is probably one of things that needs to be communicated from the admin to each user.”

What I mean is that you need to talk to or email each author/editor of your site and let them know that they are looking at certain categories, so the number of posts is not entirely accurate. I would tell them to just ignore it.
