  • I hope you will forgive me for pointing out that in breach of the licence there does not seem to be a wordpress credit on your site. I may have missed it.

    No problem, Root.
However, not only did you miss it –
but you missed it twice. 🙂
It’s listed under the header “Credits”
    and under “Meta”

I thought that WordPress was released under the GPL?

Sorry. *Reaches for spectacles and microscope.* 🙂

As I said, no problem Root 🙂
Any ideas on the category listing I described above?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is listed under a GPL, Anon.

    i’d write a function/hack.

    That’s the thing – I’ve been trying, but can’t
seem to get the post listing to come up.
Was just wondering if someone would be willing
to share their solution if they had done something
    like this sucessfully.
    Thanks, anyways.

    Thank you, charle.
However, I’m looking to have the posts within
a specific category to list out on the index.php page,
    not the category archive page.
For instance, if my category name is “General”
then the list generated would be the last 10
posts (by title) made to that category – to display
on the side menu on the index.php page.
I thank you for your suggestion and time.

I got the original get_recent_posts to work fine, but this is what I’d really like.
However when I put it my-hacks.php and run it from the site I get . .
‘Parse error: parse error, expecting `’)” in ./my-hacks.php on line 2′
Any ideas on why this might be?

If you’re just trying to output recent posts from one category, then this plugin should work:
