List of those posts on main page (4 posts)

I anticipate 1o or more posts on the front page of the weblog, from various authors. I'd like to have a list at the top (preferably horizontal -- but that's css, I guess) of the titles of those posts showing on the main page. Ideally I'd like the list items linked to the posts on the main page, not to their permalinks. But if I can't have that, then I'd rather have a simple list of titles with no links.

    Are such things possible?

    Thanks,

    Simon

It is possible, you should use an additional Loop for that. Places to start with:

    Thanks, moshu.

An additional Loop? Won't that simply replicate all the postings? I'd use the get archive template except that it links to the posts in their archive (natch). If there were a way to kill the links in the get archive list, I'd settle for that, because it's simply a table of contents I want for the main page -- ideally linked but not necessarily.

Sorry if I'm not understanding the additional Loop suggestion. Can you elaborate a little?

    Cheers,

    Simon

Check out the Multiple Loops section

(I am afraid I cannot explain it better than it was done there :)
