   does anybody know how to add a list of all categories as content to a new page? Somethinglike a sitemap but with only categories listed.

   Any help would be greatly appreciated!

   Have you looked at http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_list_categories or http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_categories

   yes, but i apparently i don't know how to use it. I tried putting some codeinto the page and it just showed the code as code. It didn't work. Does anybody know how to use it? What portion of code goes where?

   When you using template tags you have to create a template php file and assign that template file to your page in WordPress.

   You cannot drop template code into WordPress post or pages.
