Is the blogroll widget generated by a plugin?
I’m having the same problem. Yesterday I transferred my client’s paperandbooks.wordpress.com blog to mypaperarts.com, hosted at BlueHost. Everything has gone smoothly except for one thing – the blogroll widget does not exist, nor is there a “Links” link in the Admin menu. She’s using the Coraline theme, which is the same theme she was using at WordPress.com. I have created two link lists manually using the Text widget for now, but I’m stumped about the missing link. I do have the Jetpack plugin activated. Is there any other info I need to post for someone to give me a hand with this? Thanks…
Andrew, the blogroll widget is a default that comes with WordPress. Although I understand there are a few themes that do away with it, I have never seen a WP admin area without one and in my case, we’re using the same theme in two places and the old one has the widget but the new installation does not. This is strange, dude.
Hi vesica,
For me 3.4 was fine at another host, but not a fresh 3.5 even with the default theme.
links/blogroll has been removed from new installs of WordPress 3.5 or existing installed upgraded where there are no existing links

You can install the Link Manager plugin to get links back

Thanks cubecolour, I just installed the Link Manager plugin. Did see that it’s needed in another fresh installation for a different client, different host, and I really appreciate the heads-up. Slick upside-down text, moderator!
