Before upgrading, everything was working great. Since upgrading to 2.1, the "links" (blogroll) widget on the right sidebar is causing the following error to appear on the site, in the right sidebar:
WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1]
SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM
I am totally clueless as to how to proceed. I've removed the "links" (blogroll) widget from the sidebar to prevent this error from showing up, but I'm anxious to get my blogroll back.

OK -- I found lots of other posts about this problem. I thought the problem was with the Widget plugin, but apparently the problem is with the tigia theme.
Lots of posts are telling people to swap out various bits of code in the PHP files. I am a total noob and I know if I started randomly editing PHP files I would destroy something. Plus, people didn't seem to agree on exactly which method was best and which files should be edited.
So, I went to: http://www.shamsulazhar.com/wp/archives/31
And I upgraded to version 1.0.2 from version 1.0.1 of the Tiaga theme. Immediately after switching to the new version of the theme I was able to reinsert my blogroll widget and it works great.
No coding necessary.
Also, make sure that you have the latest version of the widgets plugin itself. With no announcements or fanfare, the widgets plugin has been updated a number of times, and some older versions do have incompatibilities.
