Sorry you’re experiencing some trouble with that. It sounds like a possible JavaScript or AJAX communication issue, which most likely would be due to a plugin or theme conflict.
Is there any chance you could quickly try using a default theme? And if it doesn’t work with that, could you try deactivating all other plugins except BuddyPress and Activity Plus and see how it works then?
If that works, then you should be able to re-enable plugins one-by-one to find where the conflict’s occurring.
Could you let us know how that works for you?

I’ve just tested that on a lab site and am able to post links.
Could you try switching to a default theme like Twenty Fourteen, then deactivating other plugins to see if there’s a conflict there?
If so, we can have a look at that.

I can’t.
There are no conflicts, i have already tried.
The only questions at the time would only with BP Links.

Thanks for your reply. And yes, the two plugins should be able to co-exist just fine. It’s just that there’s no integration between them.
I’m not sure I understand your request though. It sounds like you’re asking for how to integrate them?
If so, that’s not possible “out of the box”. You’d have to code a solution for that.

I’m sorry for the delayed response. We did some tests as you recommended and the culprit is NextGen Gallery. I’m using Canvas- Buddypress. When I deactivate Nextgen your plugin works. I made a test post and the link posted just fine. I turned Nextgen back on and the problem came back. Any ideas?

Bad news. Last night I edited the code per the instructions and it was working. Today it has stopped working again. I deactivated activity plus and reinstalled. Before I activated it again I edited the code per the instructions. It’s still not working…
Hi @fdcadmin, thanks for trying that. Really odd that it worked then stopped. Did anything else change? Maybe another plugin was activated?
@ildexperience, that link I posted has a temporary solution, though I’m not so sure how well that would work given fdcadmin’s report here.
We’re looking into this right now though. Our developer should have an update along shortly.
