   Suddenly only the first page of my weblog intheboatshed.net is visible - links to everything else have disappeared.

   Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon, and does anyone have any idea what the problem might be please?

   Could it have followed a plugin update, and if so which might it have been?

   try resetting permalinks
   admin - settings - permalinks

   if that is not it, start deactivating plugins starting with most recently installed until you find one conflicting

   I'll try that samboll.

   If that doesn't do it, I guess the next stage is to consider the possibility that it has been hacked.

   I've turned off all the plugins - and it didn't fix the problem. I also found an admin on the admins list that shouldn't have been there - so I think it's clear now that my site has been hacked.

   Naturally, I deleted the new admin, but still need to reinstate the site. Is there an easy way to do this? I vaguely remember that the last time I this happened I reinstalled Wp - but these days with automated updating I really don't know how to do this.

   Is there any nice, simple advice out there for someone like me please?

   Scrub that last message - I retried the permalink change and it worked like a dream. I must have fouled it up the first time, rather in the same way that wrong telephone numbers are never engaged...
