   Out of the blue, four different sites stopped working. The homepage looks fine, but clicking on a link [page, post, etc..] produces nothing. Upgraded three of the four to 2.9.2 and one of them now works, but the others still don't. one example http://www.ascensionbay.com

   that link should be http://www.ascensionbay.com/blog for an example of what is happening.

   typical, once I post -- i find the issue. plugin conflict. why it suddenly started to happen begs a deeper, darker issue. Have I been hacked? All my sites are inter-related... hmm

   More than likely it was a standard sudden plugin conflict, which can happen, not a hack.
