Links Become Distorted

    One problem that I have had with WordPress is that sometimes it changes the URL for my links.

    My WordPress news posts tend to have a lot of URL links. And now, after upgrading to the latest WP version a couple of weeks ago, when I go into any of the archives (as a user), the links contain the following added characters in the URL /news/

    This renders the link invalid and seems to be hurting my statistics (for previous months I averaged 3 page views per visit, this month 2.2). As my web page is very popular, many thousands are apparently running into the same problem (and I have received some complaints).

    Any ideas?
