Usually when you post a comment on another blog you can specify the URL of your own blog: http://www.lifestyleblogofathirtysomething.com/
If you sign up for a free WordPress.com username you can use that to identify yourself on WordPress.com blogs and on some other blogs that use OpenID, but the link goes to your WordPress.com blog (if you have one), not to your real blog…unless you pay WordPress.com money to redirect the link.
Hi Rod, thanks for that!
I’m just a little unclear about one thing you said which was that I could sign up for a free WordPress username (how do I do this) but the link goes to your WordPress.com blog not you real one _ what does that actually mean. Feel silly for asking but I need to know these things 🙂
Many thanks
Sabrina
WordPress.com hosts free WordPress blogs (paid for by advertising). You can sign up without creating a blog, so that you just have a username. Once you have a username, you can use it on WordPress.com blogs and also on some other websites.
If you use your WordPress.com username to identify yourself, as far as I know it links to your WordPress.com blog, if you have one.
Your blog is not a WordPress.com blog. Your blog is hosted by UK Webhosting (Tsohost). You cannot link a free WordPress.com username to your Tsohost blog. However, I believe you can pay WordPress.com an annual fee to link your WordPress.com username to some other website.
Your blog uses software from WordPress.org, which is not the same as WordPress.com.
Hi Rod, thanks for that I get it now 🙂
