• This plugin automatically spams contextual links within your posts. The developers have been very sneaky in setting this option to enabled in the old version, which is the one you download from here. They will go on to say the the latest version doesn’t automatically spam links (they call it “developer support”), you have to enable it, however on the plugin page of your site, the “Upgrade available” indicator is hidden by a plugin banner, so the only way to tell is checking the update plugin tab.

Developers like this should be banned, WordPress doesn’t need them as there are plenty of active and ethical developers available.

Make sure to check your site for unwanted links, you are probably going to have to manually check each of your posts and remove them from each post.

I wish there was a report plugin option here.

Oh come on… This was LONG ago.

There are NO spam links anywhere in the plugin. Any of the mods (Otto, Ipstenu) can confirm. We already went through all this.

I have removed everything… which is why the plugin is still available in the repo for free. I could have left it… and just let WP “kill” the plugin. But no.. I decided to go back in and remove it all… so that all existing users could still use the plugin.

Make sure you are using the most recent version of the plugin (version 4.8.1).

I wish there was a report plugin option here.

If you ever need to report a plugin… Please feel free to email plugins [at] wordpress.org

After re-reading your post… I think you are describing something completely different from what I thought you were talking about.

What do you mean it “spams contextual links”? Do you mean the crap that pops up when you hover over certain words?

If yes… this is a browser “bug”. Have you tried viewing your website from a different browser or a different computer to make sure it is happening all the time?

Okay… well I’m assuming you have either bailed on the plugin.. or I have resolved your issue.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

    Hi Josh,

I was trying to further look into this matter. Thank you for clarifying and resolving this issue of spam.

    Thanks Ron. No worries.

Yes, the plugin is 100% clean. If there are any spam links whatsoever, they are coming from somewhere else.
