   I want to put a short feed to my blog on my homepage. For example I want to display the last 5 posts with a short snippet of it so that if they are interested they can click to read more.

   How would I do that?
   my blog is installed at duct-911.com/index.php
   my website is duct-911.com

   Many many times, yes. Odds are, they searched the forums and found the answer :-)

   There are some techniques mentioned in the "Integrating" section of Creating_a_Static_Front_Page in the codex that are a good place to start.
