    I am new to WordPress but I am very excited at first glance.

    I am looking to use this as a base for a website which contains links to hundreds of websites. This list of links need to be grouped into categories, sometimes multiple categories.

    My first thought was to use the blogroll, but it does not allow for sub categories, nor can I write reviews. So back to regular posts.

    Using posts and the categories option I can do most of what I want, except that when I add sub categories, the still appear as root level categories, not sub categories.

    I was wondering if there is another way to manage this, or a way to use an add-in which was designed for this purpose.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    i use "pages" to do what you are looking for. they appear in the sidebar just like categories.

    They migh "appear" but they are not.

    That's a theme specific question about display and layout... Learn about the parameters you can use:
    Template_Tags/wp_list_categories#Parameters
