I will be starting a new project in which I hope to have 1,000 - 10,000 links on a single post. I will be using a 4 column wordpress template on a third party host. Will I run into any issues with link limits?

In theory: No.
But in SEO point of view YES, you will get in trouble. This issue is quite debatable but if you are making a site directory index, it wont be an issue IMO.http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=google+webmasters+guidelines
should try generate the links with Javascript or XHR Ajax kind of way so you wont get penalize by certain search engine.
