   I have noticed this even since I upgraded to 2.1.x, I am posting now about it. You can check my site, http://www.thepatri0t.net/

   I only had TWO post categories, now even the LINKS categories are shown under post categories and once you click that you get a page not found error.

   in WP-Stats plugin, under Misc Stats, the following comes up under LINK CATEGORIES,

   "

   WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' COUNT(*) AS 'total_links' FROM wp_links INNER JOIN ON .cat_]
   SELECT .cat_name, COUNT(*) AS 'total_links' FROM wp_links INNER JOIN ON .cat_id = wp_links.link_category GROUP BY .cat_id ORDER BY total_links DESC
   * N/A
   "

   Please help me. What should I do.

   Thats the way it is now. You may want to check for upgraded versions of your themes and plugins.

   "Thats [sic] the way it is now" is a bad answer. Actually, it's not an answer at all. How about some direction to the info for returning WP links and categories to the expected behavior?

   EDIT: Here's something I found that might be useful:
