css works fine for me..... as it should

Are you referring to how HTML eats blank spaces between letters, so you can't double space? Cause that ain't WordPress, y'know.

I don't think anything's really changed since Otto's closing remarks on the first of those threads.
Otto:
Several other editor plugins exist already. And adding vertical space by hitting enter a bunch of times is the wrong way to do it.
Basically, complain to TinyMCE, use a different editor, or use HTML styling to compensate.
