   how does one limit the number of posts on a page?

   my archive listing of posts goes straight down. if i had 1,000 posts with my theme it would be on one page, one very long page...

   Go to site admin/settings/reading and make it what you want.

   ok and thank you. i set the posts per pages to three and that works. but there are no "older posts" or page numbers options. in addition, i can try a page " navi" plug for "pages" and see if that works. anything else i should know...?
