   Hello there,

   I have many galleries of pictures of events that are posted under the category "photos"

   Obviously if someone clicks on the event "Johnny's Birthday Party", I want them to get the gallery with all 100 photos.

   However, if someone goes to the category page for "photos" I do not want all 100 thumbnails showing, as that makes it impossible to see the other events.

   Ideally the "photo" category would show all posts tagged with "photo", but for each post only show 6 images. (random or first 6 doesn't matter) - however clicking on those images would then take you to the full gallery.

   I realize I could get around this by creating two different galleries of each event - one a teaser and one a full gallery, but that seems convoluted.

   Any easy way to do what I'm after?

   So for clarification.

   So are each of these posts in the "Photos" category nothing but pictures or is there text?

   Are you already using some kind of pre-built gallery or or these basically posts with the content being:

   <img src"" .... >
   <img src"" .... >
   <img src"" .... >
   <img src"" .... >
   <img src"" .... >
   etc...

   Each of the posts in the photo category is nothing but pictures

   I used the "media manager" so the pictures are attached to each post so I could just use the [gallery] wordpress functionality, but I'm happy to pop them into a server and use regular img tags

   The photo category slug shows thumbnails for every single picture in every single post.
