Limit Categories for writing posts for Authors?

Hello,

Using WP2, on a muli-authored blog, it is possible to limit the role (user level) of AUTHOR to only be able select a restricted set of categories when writing a post? (So there are other categories available to the EDITOR and ADMIN select which aren’t visible to an AUTHOR or CONTRIBUTOR)

There have a few older posts about this (for WP1.5), but I haven’t been able to figure out a working solution for WP2
