Good stuff Matt, very good stuff :)
Good stuff Matt, very good stuff :)
Still tweaking, but thanks. :) Should be a lot faster.
sorry i must be warped out or something but what do you mean new look. New look of what?? this site still looks the same!
I can tell there's something different..... but as far as being faster..... nah-uh. It took three shots to get this thread to come up. Over the past couple of days, I've been noticing this increasingly hard time getting posts to come up. Even the RSS feed has timed out.
Update: OK, it's working better for me now. And I also see now that we've moved to a new BB system: "Powered by bbPress" That explains what happened to my RSS feed too.
Can't find the searchbox anymore for the forum???
Apparently the forum is no more powered by the same script and the good news is that WP seem to be winning a forum script...
Yess...... how do I search? That's what I come here for!
well, in the meantime there's always Google
RSS feeds should be fixed now.
Search here: http://wordpress.org/support/search.php . It'll be properly linked when the new template is finished.
Topics with no replies are now emphasized.
N/m, I'm blind....
People can also register now, which they couldn't for a while. Sorry about that!
Registration is now required for posting.

Thank <insert divine spirit>!
The search quickbar is back. :)
Looks good Matt. :o)
Matt - I mentioned this in another post, but I don't know if you saw it or not. The subject lines that are returned in the RSS feed are not correct. Example: Right now I see the feed entry: "Kafkaesqui on 'Like the New Look'" even thought Kitta is the last reply to it (Kitta's reply is marked as being part ofthe "" thread. The text that's displayed when I view the entry is Kafkaesqui's reply to the "About get_post()" thread. Oddly, when I compare it to the list on the forum's main page, it looks like they are off set by one line.
I just noticed that when you do a search you get 'Last reply January 1, 1970' for the thread title matches.
Wow. This is amazingly fast. Thanks for all work on the upgrade, WP crew.
I've having the same feed problem - thought I was going crazy and decided I would try clearing out my old feed and adding it again (using Thunderbird) - but I came to the forums and couldn't find the feed link again...oh yea, where are the feed links? :)
theuniek1 - it won't help. The feed can be found here: http://wordpress.org/support/rss/
RSS problems should be fixed up now. :)
woo and hoo - thank you TechGnome.
Yes allusion - the feeds are working again!
Alas, if only there was a "subscribe" function that allowed for updates via e-mail to subscribed threads. Maybe that functionality from WP could somehow be integrated here? I've always missed that feature with the WP forums...
At the bottom of each thread is a link that says, "RSS feed for this thread". You could subscribe to the RSS via an online service that sends update notification via email, like http://www.bloglines.com . Other than that, I think you'll just have to bookmark each thread.
This might sound crazy, but how about putting the search field at the bottom left of the page, rather than the top? The top could have a "#bottom" link to the search field. Often, one likes to peruse through the thread headings before searching. Also, a "#top" link at the bottom right would help in navigation. (See:
You might consider making the width of the gray"CODE IS POETRY..." footer the same size as the white thread's width. Having it wider, overlapping the "Support Forums" menu, looks awkward, IMHO. BTW, is there a reason that menu is still there, other than to make the threads thinner in width, contain the search field, and display each poster's name?
Wouldn't it be more asthetically pleasing to expand the width of the thread and do away with the menu altogether, perhaps placing posters' names below or above the post and moving the search field to the bottom as I referenced before?
Anonymous - Unregistered posts...is this an error?
EDIT: DOH! I see what's going on. :) I thought that unregistered folkses were still being allowed to post, precious....
